OGB is an artist who understands that pressure doesn’t break you—it builds you. She talks to us about Afro Beats, and Unlocking the Vault!
So your recent single is called “Pressure Makes Diamonds.” Tell us about how that came together.
Yeah, I actually wrote it at work. I literally just had an idea—it was one of those moments where everything just clicked. The whole concept is really about not caring what people think, you know what I mean? Letting pressure turn into something that makes you stronger as a person.
Whether it’s relationship-wise or just what’s going on in your life, pressure shapes you. And honestly, I write a lot of songs, but this is probably my favourite song that I’ve ever written.
That’s powerful—especially because it came from such a real, everyday moment. How would you describe your sound and genre?
I’d say R&B for sure, but also Afro Beats. It’s pretty new if I do say so myself—but it’s the best way to get your message across. You’ve got that R&B concept, but people can still groove, dance, and really enjoy it.
Afro Beats especially is just such an enjoyable genre to listen to. It lets people feel something while still moving, and that balance is important to me.
You can really hear that blend in your music—it’s soulful but still infectious. What’s next for you musically?
Honestly, just getting more music out. As artists, we always talk about “the vault.” We have so many songs sitting there, waiting for the right moment.
But right now, I’m in a space where I’m like—might as well push everything out. The timing feels right.
That’s exciting. Fans love hearing that there’s more on the way. Any dates we should be watching for?
Yeah—November. Definitely keep an eye out. There’s more coming, for sure.
We can’t wait to hear the new music. Thanks so much for chatting with I Don’t Blame You Media
